Minimum Age Requirement: 10 years

Certification:

Children aged 10 to 14 can participate in the course but will receive a Junior OW Divers certification, limiting their maximum diving depth to 12 meters. After reaching the age of 15, they automatically become OW Divers and can dive to 18 meters.

Hotel Pickup: Not Included

After purchasing your ticket, you will be informed about the meeting time and place. If you require transportation, you can book it during the online reservation process (transportation in southern Tenerife costs approximately €4, with the exact price available at the time of booking).

The diving school is located in Los Cristianos, in southern Tenerife.

Course Program

The OWD course typically lasts 2 to 3 days and consists of three main parts:

Theory (e-learning):

The theoretical part of the course covers the basics of diving, including:

• Learning about diving equipment, including types of tanks, regulators, and wetsuits.
• Safety guidelines that are essential for successful diving.
• Understanding the physics and biology of diving, which helps you better understand how your body functions underwater.

Participants can complete this part from home, allowing flexibility in learning.

In-Water and Surface Skills Training:

This portion of the course takes place in pool-like waters or shallow open waters, where you’ll have the chance to:

• Learn basic diving skills, such as swimming, buoyancy control, and underwater movement.
• Perform various exercises to build confidence and learn how to handle emergency situations, such as equipment loss or breathing difficulties.

Dives:

After completing pool-based exercises, participants move on to the practical part of the course, which includes four dives:

• Two dives to a depth of 12 meters, allowing for further skill practice in real-world conditions.
• Two dives to a depth of 18 meters, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore the underwater world and apply all your acquired skills.
